DVD Inspiration Alert (Read with Caution)
Last weekend, the family and I had a movie/pizza party in our newly finished lower level. The movie? “High School Musical” of course! Call me young at heart (but don’t say I’m clinging to high school days) when I say that I really enjoyed this movie, as it brought back a plethora of high school memories. (Love that word: Plethora.) I won’t go into details, but I will say that watching this flick had an impact on me in ways that would make anyone looking over my shoulder bust a gut… or two.
One word: CHOREOGRAPHY. Nice job, people! It’s difficult to get a bunch of performers in sync, and the producers were able to do just that. (And male dancers? At that age? Impressive.) Mock as they may, Catholic Dad and Kids really did get their kicks out of watching Catholic Mom pick up the closing dance routine. (Like I’m going to teach it to them now? Ha!)
Six more words: GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME. Yes, those words are stuck in my head. Stuck. I admit it. Although, having a visual of the basketball team jammin’ out while singing that number makes the words stick, but we won’t go there. Those guys had some serious rhythm, which isn’t something an “old mom stuck in her rah rah days” gets to see every day. They actually gave me some inspiration to get my head in my own game again. (Thanks, guys.)
So that’s what I did. With all of the recycled computers sitting in the office dungeon, I got busy. No blogging. No working on websites. No snacking on Chex Mix. No practical jokes on C or P. No prank phone calls to CD at work. Only computer cleaning. And now a community of Sudanese folks will be receiving personal computers, thanks to the Sisters.
Inspiration comes from the most unexpected places, doesn’t it?! (Oh yeah… and my work performance review is in a couple of weeks. Forgot to mention that little tidbit.)

Okay, I didn’t read the whole thing. Reason you ask? I stole the movie from Blondie and I haven’t seen it yet. I’m dyin’! I LOVE MUSICALS! Blondie and friends LOVED it because they are dancers. They know most of the dances now.
I have to wait til Dweeb is working an evening to watch it for fear of his diarrhea of the mouth getting in the way of a great movie experience (and the fact I’m out of popcorn now).
: ) Sue
I have to admit, I’m a sucker for any movie with dancing in it! I’ll watch them all, from cheesy B movies to big screen hits. I don’t care if the plot is exciting or the story line is exceptional. Give me some choreography and a good beat and I’ll be smiling for days (and secretly repeating the moves in my kitchen ever night for weeks!).
We should start a support group for adults who enjoy letting loose with a little musical-inspired singing and dancing! What do you say?
@Sue: Uh-oh! I don’t want to mess with your movie experience. You’ll have to stop by again and let me know what you thought of it. So does Blondie have a “Troy” shirt yet? I hear it’s all the rage.
@Ami: I’m there! Crazy Dancing Adult Support Group (CDASG). Who else will join our club?
You’re right… inspiration does come from unexpected sources… I needed reminding of that this week. The pink dude and the broker are both getting on my nerves this week! You reminded me I HAVE A PLAN! and this too shall pass. So… Thanks.
PS Still pulling the hair out on our new site, but it’s coming along.
You did NOT just mention your job review…ROFL. Love you!
Actually, I love movies like that too. I haven’t seen that one but others like it (Lizbet is all into ballroom dancing movies right now) and they are fun too.
hugs,
I will definately have to check this one out. I love musicals.
That’s awesome about the sisters giving their computers to people who need them.
Have a great day!

I would really like to see a video of you doing that closing dance sequnce.
one of my favorite dancing movies of all time: Center Stage. Makes me wish i was graceful, but i doubt that will happen anytime soon!
Peace!
Hey there…. thanks for stopping by… I’m trying to get things set up … slowly but surely… I FINALLY got the Polar Bear pic on the banner… I was going to try to do a polar bear background but, I thought it might be a bit of overkill… (And I’m trying to figure out how to change the fonts, etc…. so …) Good thing I have nothing to do right now huh? Hope things go well for you with the CCD kids ( Gosh, First Reconciliation and Communion… takes me WAY back to the day… ). The discussion on sin ought to have been interesting.. You’ll have to keep us posted as time goes on.
Well.. better get back to working on the site … Keep checking back and let me know what you think of the changes… Who knows you may even find out why we refer to Polar Bears in our title…
Have a great day!
