Website Makeover

Published by itchick under Tech Stuff, Work Related

I shouldn’t broadcast this before testing, but I’m way too antsy to keep it under wraps.  Anyway, if you would like to see my latest masterpiece, please stop by:

Questions, comments, criticisms and/or darts are welcome!
(Oh, and BTW the Contact form is working now.  I’m working on a “Resources” page for links that are handy for my clients… and me too, of course.)

Can you tell I’m preparing for the proverbial ”pink slip” soon?  The writing is on the wall for everyone at the office.  It’s like working in a morgue.

Dell Battery Deja Vu

Published by itchick under Tech Stuff

This morning I turned on the news to learn that Dell was recalling laptop batteries that were causing FIRES, images of laptop explosions and all.  Huh?  The reason I say “Huh?” is because this is DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN.  Let’s just say I have literally been burned with this issue before, last year to be exact when I purchased a Dell laptop only to learn that it was refurbished after experiencing similar overheating issues with a RECALLED BATTERY.

Here’s what happened: 2 weeks after I purchased said laptop for a fellow staffer, it went caput.  Fried.  Sure enough, I Googled the problem and found this.  Can you say, “Let’s expense that one?”  I did.  And I really didn’t need the harsh reminder this morning.

So… when will we be repeating this little battery issue, Dell?  Please keep your disgruntled customers current with your PR strategies, will you?  I’m already looking very seriously at other vendors… VERY SERIOUSLY.  And hey, I don’t need any more exploding laptops, thanks-very-much.

The World Has Gone Nuts

Published by itchick under Blog Stuff

I woke up from a dream this morning that bothered the heck out of me:  I was in Africa staying in a hotel where they would not allow me to take a shower. What is that all about?  Either I’m reading too much of AAK’s Blog or I need a serious shower.  Can’t explain that one.

Oh, and Catholic Son lost a tooth today. Bloody mess.  But he’s happy to have it out before school starts.  (Yeah, it was hanging skewed-like by a thread of gum tissue.  EEW.)

Now I know why I’m not a dentist.

Sorry–Can’t Wait Any Longer

Published by itchick under Friends

This blog supercedes any previous concessions for privacy, my visitor friends.  We’re having so much fun that I’m busting at the seams!

Ok.  I’m calm now.  But here’s the scoop that I cannot hold back any longer:

Six years ago after building our own home in the subdivision where we live, our family met another dynamic and fun family at a neighborhood BBQ: Adela, Franc & Katy.  We came to know Adela as the Venezuelan diva, Franc the Danish prince and Katy the wild child beauty suprema.  Over the course of time, our families became “tight” so to speak.

Fortunately, we had similar backgrounds which made our ties tighter: Adela and Franc are engineers by trade, with CD an engineer and me a computer analyst.  We thunk alike and were always considered the life of the party.  (Ok, 75% of us were pretty lively at parties.  But I won’t go into details.)  Unfortunately, Franc is antsy by nature and accepted a contract outside the area 2 years ago.  GADS… NO FRANC!!!

So when Franc made another trip back to our city, you’d better believe that Adela followed him with darling Katy and new little brother Andy in tow.  And yes, we’ve been partying it up ever since and having the time of our lives.

Let me just say that if CD and I lived a couple of generations back in our family trees, we would be Adela and Franc.  (Only he’d be Swedish and I’d be Italian.)  It’s that real, let me tell you.

Adela & Brenda
