Merry Christmas!

Published by itchick under Holidays

Santa's CookiesAfter enjoying the holiday program at the Catholic Kid’s elementary school yesterday and experiencing numb cheeks from sitting in a metal chair for over 3 hours, it’s finally sinking in… the holiday is HERE! So today is the day that I must get those holiday cookies in the oven, otherwise Santa and his reindeer will be leaving our home hungry and might reconsider visiting us again next year. (Can’t have that now, can we?) After getting myself out of my jammies, I’ll be in the kitchen baking Hershey’s Kiss and spritzer cookies with the help of 4 additional little hands. (It’s a good thing I bought extra Kisses–my helpers tend to help themselves.)

Paid to Blog?Bloggers must disclose sponsored posts - Tech News & Reviews - MSNBC.com

*Amen! I mean, I’d sure like to know whether a blogger is posting legitimate information or just spouting off paid blog material. It’s a trust thing, which is why I’m all for the disclosure move.

And no, the Sisters are not paying me to post what you see here. Although, I am aware that my blog functions as potential reading material during the lunch hour. *Wave!* (Yes, I am such a dork. So get a move on and finish your lunches.)

Yesterday was one of those days that I could’ve easily erased from my memory… if it weren’t for the situation that I had with Sister K. Even recounting it later at the dinner table made it worth remembering. The family and I giggled like crazy people over what happened, which of course makes for good blog material. So here goes:

Holiday Woes

Published by itchick under Holidays

Officially, on my way to work today I was cut off exactly 4 times on the Interstate, and I just about cried. Seriously. Why? It’s not because I’m a big cry baby who cries at the drop of a hat, but it was because I am sad for the state of humanity during the time of year when people should be caring and gracious. Instead, I’m surrounded by selfish and rude behavior from the time I set out into the world for the day. This morning was the last straw, and it just about brought tears to my eyes.

In my defense, getting cut off on the Interstate 4 times was totally inexcusable. I’d like to consider myself one of the better, experienced highway drivers out there on the road, as I’ve been commuting for almost 20 years, whether it be to college or work. I’m not too pokey. I’m not a speeder. My car stays right up there with the traffic flow. But today? Well, apparently there was an invisible sign attached to my vehicle that read:

DO NOT ALLOW THIS CAR TO ENTER OR SWITCH LANES.
IF YOU SEE THE BLINKER BLINKING, IGNORE IT AT ALL COSTS.
THEN SPEED UP TO BLOCK IT FROM GETTING INTO ANOTHER LANE.

That’s exactly what happened to me this morning 4 TIMES. I’m still shaken up about the fact that I had to make a detour to work after having gone NORTH instead of EAST to reach my office. It’s a good thing I left early for the office, or else I would’ve been really late and Sweet G would’ve called 911. (She knows how big I am on punctuality and would have immediately suspected the worst.) And that would’ve been a complete waste of time for the emergency people and their resources, all because 4 rude people wouldn’t allow me to change lanes so that I could make it to work on time.

So tell me… Merry Christmas?where’s the holiday cheer? Because it’s not anywhere near me this morning. Need. Holiday. Cheer. Got some?
