Presidential Fitness Update

Published by itchick at 10:44 am under Health & Fitness, Sisters, Workout Log

Dear George W. Bush,

Never in your wildest dreams are you going to believe what I have to report today. No, I didn’t drop another pound. And no, I didn’t complete the Gold challenge yet. But get this: the Sisters (or ‘nuns’ as you like to call them) BOUGHT ME A BICYCLE! It’s true! So now I don’t have to continue riding the 15-year-old mountain bike that I received as a college graduation gift, the one with loud squeaky breaks and a flat tire. Wasn’t that sweet of those ladies? I know!

Anyway, I won’t continue to bore you with my boring old workout update. Just know that I’m adding ‘biking’ to the list of workout activities in my online log, so you should see more progress when it comes to my fitness. I promise to keep you posted as things pick up for me, as I know how interested you are in seeing me get that gold medal and all.

Wait, before I go how’d you like to see a photo of my new bike? You would?! Ok, here’s my TREK 7200 bicycle:
My New Bicycle

Sweet, huh George? Maybe we can go biking together with the family next time I’m in your neck of the woods. That’d be fun!

Ok ok… back to work. I’ve got IT stuff to do, and you’ve got a country to maintain.

TTFN,
ITChick & Fitness Fanatic

P.S. Any ideas on a name for my new bike? She needs one… I’m at a loss.

    Wow, sweet gift!
And congrats on adding another client to your roster. Remember to leave some time to ride the bike!

I think that you should name your new bike–”Presidential Fitness 1.” Not quite “Air Force 1″ but it fits the occasion. By the way–Nice Bike.

@Barb: It is sweet, isn’t it? Actually, I just found out they offer a “Wellness Benefit” that can be used to buy equipment. The benefit is offered to each employee once every year. George should give them a pat on the back!

@Bobbi: Hey, that works for me. I could call it “PF1″ for short. :)

Those Nuns are heavnely! Is that a belated employee appreciation gift? Nevertheless, its an awesome bike! I would name it Sister Mary Katherine.

Oh! Bring her over here and I can show you how the real bike riders would treat her ;)

@mannyed: Sister Mary Katherine! I like it… kinda has a nice ring to it, and I don’t even know any Sister Mary Katherines so it might work. (And yes, they ARE heavenly.)

@JM: Huh-uh. You’re talking to a person who will cry at the first scratch. I’m thinking of hanging it on the wall on the days I don’t ride it. I might even wax it for extra shine. Ok, not. :)

Nice bike and very good choice for a gift.

BTW on bicycles… How much would the average person be willing to spend on a bike? Please feel welcome to reply and answer.

It’s interesting on how many models there are out there that go well in excess of 1k. Ouch.

@Ron: The average person? I guess it would depend on where/how you are planning to ride the bike. Recreational? Bike trails vs. off-road? I think @$400 is fair for the long term, in my case anyway. But I’d never go 1k+. No way.
