Slept Outside Apple Store
… for this?

Apparently some folks were crazy enough to do it. Not me. I prefer my nice soft mattress, as opposed to the curb. Call me quirky that way.

I work very near an Apple store and an AT&T store. The funny thing is… there were people at the Apple store, overnight, and at least 100 deep. There were exactly 8 people at the AT&T store. I laughed. The nimrods! They could get the same danged thing just around the corner and wouldn’t have to camp out or wait!
The good thing was… we sold lots and lots and lots and lots of Frappuccinos yesterday… and today.
I’m exhausted and could absolutely give a rip about the iphone.
But they are kinda cool…
My big joke was, “Hmmm, I wonder how many of those people are walking around or camping out with $500 buckaroos in their pockets?”
People are nutso, dontcha think?
@Natalie: So you were right there in the heart of all the iPhone hype! That is so priceless. And yes, my first thought was “Oh yeah right… I’m gonna park myself outside a store ready with my $$$ to buy a techno-gadget, prime target for getting robbed, like an absolute idiot. Oh, and wait… first I must call in sick to work and show up at the office with an iPhone the very next day.”
Nim. Rods.
and the best part: people taking a hammer to it the very. next. day. Why don’t you just take a wad of cash and throw it out your car window? The hammerheads claim they wanted to see what was inside? I guess the internet capabilities weren’t enough to keep their attention. Stoopids. Oh, wait…nimrods.
Whoa! That registration totally threw me off, but I’m glad I can comment now!
The iPhone scares me. And I can’t afford one so that’s that!
@Mannyed: Complete fools. Of course, they were foolish enough to wait outside the door so early, so pounding it with a hammer doesn’t really surprise me either!
@dtuszke: So there you go. I’d like to play with one before buying it, but so far I don’t see a need for having one as it is. I’m doing just fine and dandy with my nano and cellphone in 2 separate pieces. Good enough.
Heh..
I kind of-sort of- want one of those phones.. And I don’t even really like cell phones.
I think it’s just because it’s a gadgety…
@Sol: That’s definitely it. Gadgets tend to draw us tekkies in… HOLD STRONG!
