For the second weekend in a row, the Catholic family and I ventured out to the zoo to experience the latest local rage: BUDGIES. What are budgies? Well, if you take a look at the video you will see that they are nothing more than colorful little birds, the kind you see in pet stores everywhere. Only here you see that we’re in a tent chalk full of those buggers, armed with birdseed sticks for feeding purposes. Unfortunately, the budgies seemed to be more interested in nibbling on our shoelaces. Huh?

I.T. Catholic Mom’s blog has been collecting dust this week. Why is ITCM’s blog collecting dust this week? you ask. Well, here’s your answer in bullet format, because ITCM is all beleaguered and can’t drag a well-thought-out blog from her sorry brain right now:

• Catholic Hubs has been out on assignment all week halfway across the continent
• Catholic Mom has been left to maintain a household and rear 2 children during Hub’s absence
• Catholic Mom’s IT job outside of the home requires her to be onsite maintaining technology for a Regional Community of Catholic nuns
• During which time she’s in the process of launching a new website for an important client with her IT firm
• And 2 very big meetings requested her presence, sitting her in the ‘hot seat’ and causing her to sweat bullets under what seemed to be a very powerful microscope
• To top it all off, between shuffling the CK’s around for daycare, she was forced to dispose of a dead rabbit that presumably died from heat exhaustion after being trapped in a 100+ degree furnace garage. (The smell!!)

Independent and aloof, you don’t like to be dependent on anyone. And as for other people, you can take them or leave them. You often don’t care. You live your life by your own rules. And you have deep motivations that no one truly understands. Why you would make a great pet: You’re not needy or greedy… unlike other four legged friends. Why you would make a bad pet: You’re not exactly running down to greet people at the door What you would love about being a cat: Agility and freedom What you would hate about being a cat: Being treated like a dog by clueless humans

Not sure that I agree 100% with my outcome. So, how about you? What’d you get and does it fit?

I’m a Harry Potter fan, so ‘Yes’ I preordered J.K. Rowling’s final edition online way back in February via Wal-Mart. I expected to receive the book in the mail yesterday, but who would’ve thought it would be sitting on my doorstep bright and early as the family and I pulled out of the driveway on our way to the zoo? I mean, the mailman doesn’t even arrive until well after 2:00 in the afternoon! Impressive—Wal-Mart’s speedy shipping and Rowling’s first chapter, that is. 600+ pages to go…
