Harry Potter Arrives

Published by itchick at 9:45 am under Blog Stuff, Books, Entertainment, Family

I’m a Harry Potter fan, so ‘Yes’ I preordered J.K. Rowling’s final edition online way back in February via Wal-Mart. I expected to receive the book in the mail yesterday, but who would’ve thought it would be sitting on my doorstep bright and early as the family and I pulled out of the driveway on our way to the zoo? I mean, the mailman doesn’t even arrive until well after 2:00 in the afternoon! Impressive—Wal-Mart’s speedy shipping and Rowling’s first chapter, that is. 600+ pages to go…

    WooHoo! I totally cannot wait for our preordered copy. We have only seen Harry Potter in Dutch here, so we figured there would be no way we’d be able to purchase an English copy anytime near the release date, so we ordered through Amazon UK. Wouldn’t you know it, when I went shopping on the 21st there were PILES of ENGLISH Harry Potters next to the ceckouts!!! And here we wait for our preordered copy, which we, like you, ordered in February! Happy reading!

    I ordered mine back on Feb. 1. Steve dangled the box in front of me, then proceeded to open said box and read the last two pages. IN FRONT OF ME!!!

    THEN!

    He was discussing the ending with a friend of mine!

    Rat bastard……

    I never got into Harry Potter but am curious to know how it all ends. Maybe you can let me know when you get there. Or I can ask Kristi’s husband,lol.

    My daughter and I begged MOM to let us buy it….but to no avail. We have to wait for my sister-in-law to read her copy and let us borrow it. OH the shame of it all!!

    @JM: What in the world is up with THAT?! Well, at least you set yourself up with a safety net in case the English copies weren’t anywhere to be found. Smart thinking…

    @VENTL8R: That Steve is the root of all evil. The nerve of him. *hmmpft*

    @mannyed: I’ll let you know in a few months… my multitasking way of reading tends to be a problem lately! Or talk to Mr. Evil Steve who has no sense of self-restraint. ;)

    @T_B_N: She ranks right up there with Steve in my book. Total unfairness.

    @CalmDragon: Roger that. :)
