That Sabbath Day
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve actually been trying to ‘Remember to keep holy the LORD’S Day.’ Why now after all of these years of cramming all kinds of housework,
shopping, consulting, bill paying, etc. in over the weekend? Well, let’s just say that after standing up in front of two CCD classes, I was beginning to feel a wee bit hypocritical by not recognizing that ‘day of rest’ business. And I figure that if Hobby Lobby and an entire country can recognize Sunday Sabbath, then so can I. *hmph*
So that means now I’m cramming all of my housework, shopping, consulting, bill paying, etc. in during the rest of the week, leaving Sunday wide open for rest and relaxation. And you know what? It’s amazing how much more refreshed I’m feeling on Monday. God really was onto something when He issued those Commandments… although, now I’m left wondering how long this ‘day of rest’ plan will continue.
One more reason to move to Italy.

Makes Mondays almost bearable.
If I didn’t get home sooo darn late from work during the week, I def take you up on that challenge, but for now I need Sundays to finish my chores. A more refreshed feeling on Monday would be a God send, though.
I would love to move to Italy! Then I could do some miscellaneous chores and bill paying during siesta. :o)
And if we all moved to Italy, we could take the entire month of August as a vacation. I’m seriously thinking about the “day of rest” thing. I’ve been spreading myself just a little thin these days.
I know we try not to do too much shopping on Saturday or Sunday. Typically, though, laundry is one of those things that I wind up doing on Sunday…I know that a day of rest is especially important for me right now. My life is never quiet, and all the changes in the past couple of months have made me very tired.
I tried to e-mail you, but I got an undeliverable message…
Amen to that!!! Sunday is my only day off now, and I rarely want to go anywhere or do anything. It does make a difference on Monday, like you said!
Hugs,
Cordaville
Maybe I’ll take every seventh week off, too. Just to be sure. Every seventh month and year may be too much though…
In Italy they also get Mondays off; but, they work on Saturday. Taking a day of rest on Sunday would really be great, but I always seem to have tons of things to do. But, you go girl!
I don’t know how you can teach two classes of children. I’d be pulling my hair out. Unfortunately, giving them candy to be good is like Pavlov’s dog training. When the candy is gone, look out.
@All: Ah heck… let’s all just move to Italy on sabbatical for a year. We could stay at Lake Garda and have the time of our lives. Life’s too short for working on Sunday! I’m so serious.
