Alrighty then! As of today, we’re good to go with a logo and guidelines, as you’ll notice in the sidebar over there under ‘Reading’. I’m even throwing out a book suggestion to get the ball rolling. Others are welcome as this one is not official just yet.
Book recommendations are open until the end of New Year’s Day. Got one? Post it here or send it to me via email.
Cheers, reader peeps!
Update 1/01/08: Odd Mom Out is not the first bookclub selection. Check the sidebar link for the current Book-of-the-Month.

ITCM is officially starting up a bookclub, and you want to be in it. Trust me! Here’s the plan:
- Create the ‘Chicken Lit’ instruction page with information about the bookclub.
- Solicit Book-of-the-Moment recommendations from blog visitors.
- Post the Book-of-the-Moment and welcome members to begin reading.
- Open a forum for discussion/comments on club book.
Yes, it’s that simple! So give me a little bit of time to get this thing started, and then check back often because I want you to be involved in the new bookclub adventure.
Happy reading, bloggers.

I’m not one for cooking, albeit I do have a couple of dishes the Catholic Family looks forward to eating on occasion, e.g. lasagna & mexican manicotti. Yes, Catholic Hubs has been the Man-of-the-Kitchen for many years, that is BEFORE I went on Consulting Status and received 3 new recipe books from the CK’s this Christmas:
- Classic RACHAEL RAY 30-Minute Meals ‘YUM-O!’
- Favorite Brand Name Incredibly Easy Weeknight Meals
- Campbell’s Slow Cooker Recipes
So far, so good. I’ve already successfully achieved a few dishes over the holiday vacation, can you believe it? Check it out, I’ve made these already:
- Sesame Noodles (thanks, Rachael)
- Maple-Mustard Pork Chops with Grilled Apples (again, Rachael’s recipe)
- Asian Turkey Burgers (Rachael, geez)
- Sauteed Snow Peas & Baby Carrots (Name Brand, you rock!)
And with that, I’ve been officially kicked out of the kitchen tomorrow so that Hubs can get some fajitas on the grill.
Show off.
Update 12/28/07: The recipe books are posted on my ‘Books I Dig‘ page. Definitely some good buys—Cheers!

Every year, the Catholic Family and I keep tabs on Santa’s whereabouts as he delivers presents across the globe by way of NORAD’S Santa Tracker. But holy smokes, are we in for a treat this year after major updates to the tracker site. Much to our surprise, NORAD added Google Earth technology, which amounts to 3-D tracking of Santa. Sweet!

If you have absolutely no idea of what I’m talking about, first go here to NORAD’s tracking sight, then go here to download Google Earth, and finally go here to get the Santa Tracker local to your desktop. Missed some of Santa’s stops? No problem! NORAD posts video of Santa’s delivery sites on YouTube here.
Christmas just gets better & better every year.
