Santa Tracking: Google Earth Style

Every year, the Catholic Family and I keep tabs on Santa’s whereabouts as he delivers presents across the globe by way of NORAD’S Santa Tracker. But holy smokes, are we in for a treat this year after major updates to the tracker site. Much to our surprise, NORAD added Google Earth technology, which amounts to 3-D tracking of Santa. Sweet!
Tracking Santa
If you have absolutely no idea of what I’m talking about, first go here to NORAD’s tracking sight, then go here to download Google Earth, and finally go here to get the Santa Tracker local to your desktop. Missed some of Santa’s stops? No problem! NORAD posts video of Santa’s delivery sites on YouTube here.

Christmas just gets better & better every year.

I like the 3D effects of the land in google earth. Sometimes I wish they could do it to the buildings too, then I think better of it.
http://maps.live.com/ is getting into the act too.

We do Norad every year but somehow I missed the 3-D thing - it was nice to see exact locales of where Santa was - and it sure helped with getting the kids to bed although they were really only there with one eye shut - and then at one point my daughter got up and said, hey, I see full stockings and I said no you don’t…..she did, of course.

Note to self - get to bed earlier on the eves before Xmas Eve so I can stay up a bit later that night. :)

@CD: I have a feeling it’ll get there. Technology is moving it ahead at lightening speed, or so it seems.

@Holy: One eye shut? Exactly! I’m taking your advice next Christmas. :)
