Lunch on a Wednesday

Published by itchick at 12:10 pm under Cooking, Food, Health & Fitness, Lunch, School

It’s about time I posted a ‘What I Had for Lunch’ blog, don’t you think? So here goes.

This morning I helped out in the media center at the Catholic Kids’ school, keeping my growling stomach under control by drinking bottled water and chewing gum. These tactics worked for a few hours, but by the time I returned back home to re-charge and get ready for more errand running, my stomach was screaming:

FEED ME ALREADY, WOMAN! CAN’T YOU HEAR ME GROWLING DOWN HERE?! LIKE I’M DOING THIS FOR MY HEALTH?! SHEESH.

So I’m pulling out the proverbial ‘big guns’ and having myself a big bowl of popcorn & Quaker Snack Mix alongside a Lean Cuisine meat & cheese lasagna.

Rumbling all gone. How heavenly.

What’s in your lunch today?

My lunch consists of coffee and some leftover dinner mints from some office baby shower. I felt that it was time to take charge and improve my unhealthy eating habits. We will see how long I can keep it up!

McChicken, 3 oatmeal cookies, small coke, three bucks with a quarter tax. And a chance to drive around LA with the top down in the fresh air after a week of rain…

Wendys burger with cheese and lettuce and tomatoes and a few of my husbands french fries. Not the healthiest of lunches, but we are doing better on the dinner front. We have found Dinners Ready (www.dinnersready.com). They make meals for 2,4,6. And since it is just the two of just, just add a veggie and you have a really healthy meal!

Leftover beef barley soup & a couple ry-krisp. Working at home means that I get to work on most of the leftovers - but some things (like soup) are really great that way!
