Super Fat Tuesday
Yes, not only is today ‘Fat Tuesday’ during which time Catholics everywhere are reminded that it’s the last day before Lent that they can EAT ANYTHING THEY WANT, but it’s also ‘Super Tuesday’ in the political world here in the USA. So I thought the name of my blog was creative, unique and even kind of funky - at least until I overheard several teachers at the CK’s school tossing that little phrase around like they just thought it up. Spoilers. So much for that bubble burst!
Anyway, I’m back at home catching up on consulting duties and doing this, because it’s snowing like mad outside and snacks are off limits during Ash Wednesday’s fast tomorrow:
And I do promise to try to be good in my eating habits tomorrow, even if it means chewing a few more sticks of gum between meals. Because, as you know, I’m a huge snacker. But there will be no repeat of last year’s faux pas. Nuh-uh. Even the original Catholic Mom caught me in the act of that particular sinful behavior, and we don’t want to see it happen all over again.
You should worry about me.

Actually here in NY, its Giant Super Fat Tuesday. The Giants had their tinker tape parade in NYC today.
I’ve been chowing down today too as I gave up snacks (unheatlhy ones) and diet soda for lent. 40 days…piece of cake…err…
psst…I meant ticker tape, not tinker. Heehee.
Ahhhh…I raise one of my last Coca-Colas to you. I am giving up soda for Lent. Since it is my second largest source of caffeine I might be a bit grumpy for a few days.
Enjoy the snow. We have heavy mist turning to freezing stuff, turning to snow later tonight. Usually a nasty mix.
Have a good Lenten journey.
worry, worry, worry.
@Gina - You’ve gotta love Giant Super Fat Tuesday in NYC. Oh and ‘You go, girl!’ with the Lenten promises. BTW: Here in the Midwest, you’d be giving up POP instead of SODA. (I’ve been schooled on that!)
@AITCD - Another brave soul giving up the good stuff. I’m going the opposite direction and observing Lent by doing something as a reminder. Let the journey begin. (And don’t you mean POP?)
@CD - Thanks, I made it through the day… starving, of course.
