Giveaway Time
Ok, I’ve thought long and hard about this idea… so here we go.
My fantabulous blogger IT-diva friend, Jeri, has been waiting ever so patiently for me to post a Sci-Fi book to our Chicken Lit reading list, and I’ve promised to do just that by introducing Barrayar by Lois McMaster Bujold as the book of the moment. So to attract more readers to the bookclub in our Sci-Fi read, I’m setting up a GIVEAWAY.
That’s right.
Everyone who joins in with us on the next bookclub read will be submitted into our drawing to win a free Chicken Lit Tile Coaster. These are so coveted that you know you must have one, so why not join in with us? I mean, even I haven’t read a Sci-Fi book since the college days - so help me out here, will you?
Meanwhile, enjoy Saturday Night Live this weekend… the writers finally came through again. Thank goodness for that.
Update 2/27/08: The recommended sci-fi books are not the next bookclub selections. Check the sidebar link for the current book choice.

I have this book in paperback, do you know that it is part two of a chronology? Do we want to read the first part of it so that we are not lost in time and space? I am being helped on this one by my husband who has read it and and tells me that Shards of Honor is the first in the chronology. Jeri, what do you and ITchick think? Both? One? I have both.
I have both - let’s just go for it and have Shards of Honor be our next read. Being lost in time and space isn’t my idea of fun anyway.
@All - If I’m unable to get at least one more reader to join us in the SCI-FI reads, then we’ll move on. Looks like I need to do some more recruiting here!
What do you mean move on? New book?
Not sure I can do sci-fi…I’ll look into it and see if I could do it…
@Becca - I was thinking about moving on to a new book if we didn’t get more readers to join us. Are you willing to go ahead with ‘Shards of Honor’ if it’s just the two of us? I’d like to try.
@Gina - Just repeat after me, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.” (Thanks for giving it a go!)
Sorry, I’m back now! I was out on vacation, then we had a family emergency… all is ok now though. Yes, I’m good with the books, but if you can’t get readers, we can skip too.
