A fellow blog-friend recommended a social networking site to me called Goodreads, which is basically where I’ve been maintaining virtual ‘bookshelves’ (or lists) of books that I’ve been reading or would like to read. The service is especially cool because it allows me to post ratings and/or comments about books on my own bookshelves, as well as on those created by friends. And how about the added perk of visiting actual authors with profiles on Goodreads? Cool, indeed!
Only now, here’s this late-breaking tidbit:
Amazon Snaps Up Book Lover SocNet Shelfari
Guess where I’m headed? Look out Goodreads - Shelfari is the SocNet to watch.

This week has me entertaining Catholic Spring Break’ers, so please excuse the break in blog action. Between shuffling kiddos around town, I’m actually enjoying Book #8 of the Chicken Lit Bookclub selection. So what I’m saying is that basically, things are slightly busy around the Catholic Homestead for a few days. Funny how a Mom (or Dad) doesn’t really get a break until school goes back in session, isn’t it? Who would’ve thought?
Back soon, bloggerville.

Now that we’re over and done with the last bookclub book that will appear on this blog, let’s take it on over to the new Chicken Lit Bookclub site for book #6: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelo.
Getting this bookclub started has been a little bit of a challenge, but I can envision smooth sailing now that it has found a new home, a place where it can really get busy. Not only that, but I can keep the ITCM blog focused on my usual blogging stuff without having to weed through bookclub posts. That’ll be nice. Oh and hey, the timing? Perfect - just in time for Easter.
Enjoy the holiday and join us with book #6!

Finally, here we are with our next discussion about the remaining chapters of the 5th Chicken Lit Bookclub selection. So what were your thoughts about how everything went down? Was it a long and winding road for you? And what about the ending - did it end the way you wanted? Is Green’s novel one you would recommend to others? Or are you ready to chuck this one?
Let’s hear what you think.
BTW: Happy Good Friday to all you fellow Catholics out there! I don’t want to see a piece of fish on my plate for at least another year. Tuna included. *blech*
